Solar energy is the main cause of almost every life on earth. Without it, life on earth is impossible. The best thing is that it is free and inexhaustible. But, most of the people enjoy it without knowing how it enters into your life i.e. what is the reason behind the great benefits that you are getting.
Radiant energy is generated by the sun after it consumes hydrogen through a nuclear fission reaction. Then, the solar energy is transferred to the earth in chunks of energy called photons. These photons react with the atmosphere and the surface. This energy is received the earth is about 8 minutes and 20 seconds.

Then, it accumulates this energy in the atmosphere, plant life and oceans. The reaction between the oceans, the atmosphere, and the sun’s energy, for instance creates winds that can generate electricity when directed through aerodynamically wind machines. With the help of solar photovoltaic cells, solar radiation gets converted to electricity.

Photovoltaic means light energy in its true sense as photo means light and voltaic means energy. Individual cells are packed into group of modules that re known as arrays. These arrays serve like a battery when the sun is shining and produces a stream of direct current or DC electricity, sending it into the building or sharing it with the grid.

A weather station located on or near the array, follows the current weather conditions at the site. Usually, the weather station comprises of an anemometer to measure wind speed, a pyranometer to measure the amount of solar energy reaching the array.

Also, it is equipped with a thermometer to measure the temperature. Data acquisition system receives electronic signals from the weather station. It is interpreted there and stored for a collection on a periodic basis.
However, solar energy technologies harness the energy of the sun for practical ends. Solar power is made use synonymously with solar energy or more specifically to refer to the conversion of sunlight into electricity. This can be done by heating a transfer fluid to generate steam to run a generator.

Besides, the sun makes plants grow, which can be burned as biomass fuel or if left to left to rot in swamps and compressed underground for millions of years in the form of coal and oil Eve turbines are operated through sun as heat from the sun causes temperature differences between areas.
